Getting
Started
A web site
basically does one of two things. For businesses, it advertises
and promotes specific products and/or services--the site acts as
marketing platform. Or, for family or individual focus, a web
site is an outlet for a particular personality to extend itself
to the world.
We
take pride in developing sites that are soundly functional,
quietly attractive and easy to navigate. We are NOT into
creating sites that are complicated or rely on gimmicky.
Depending on the
amount of information you want displayed, the number of pages
and topics will vary. This is something we will need to visit
with you about. To make your web site user-friendly and to
communicate its contents effectively, your information will be
arranged in an easy to review and acquire order. If you do not
have an idea as to how you would like your information to appear
to visitors, we will help you make those decisions.
While every web
site has a "home" or "welcome" page, other pages might consist
of a combination of items or topics. Such as: Company or
Personal Information, Product Information, News, Current or
Upcoming Promotions, Photographs, and a host of other items
special to individual needs.
To develop a page,
most of the features are crafted through a several step process
particular to each item or topic. These steps include creation
of page attributes, layout, sizing, coloring etc., and also
include the selection of fonts, graphics and photos, page links,
background colors or designs, shapes and lines, content.... |
Fonts
"Font" refers to
the design or style of the print / typescript that appears on
your pages. Applying the appropriate font(s) improves the
readability of a page while making it more attractive. Different
styles and sizes of fonts are applied to titles, command lines,
and bodies of writing. Some of these items might call for
different, individually applied colors to attract the attention
of viewers. Once the correct font and color have been applied to
the written material, the sentences / paragraphs must be sized
and positioned.
Graphic
Images & Photos
Graphics
can consist of "clip art", animations, banners, and 3-D words or
photos and other images. (jpg or gif format) Though "clip
art" is often easy to install, constructing or locating the best
clip art for your site might require additional time. The
creation of animations, 3-D and 2-D images, specifically created
for a web site, involves a several step process.
Most times, a logo
or graphic that your business already uses can be scanned and
implemented into the design of your web page. Or, if you do not
have a logo or would like your current logo revised, one can be
made. Using your own jpg or gif format logo or graphics
will help reduce the cost of your web site.
Digital
photographs are best used on a website. However, printed photos
can be scanned and implemented as needed. Note that this is a
time consuming, more expensive process! If you don't have photos
or need additional photos for your site, Simply Created
Consulting can easily assist you in most circumstances.
